Nate (my boyfriend extraordinaire and A+ roomie) and I need to do some major planning for our Denver trip. Seriously though, it’s in a little over two weeks and all we have booked are the plane tickets and a cocktail tour (obviously). We need to hunker down this weekend and make sure we have a bed to sleep in… and no, we don’t camp, haha! If anyone has any suggestions, please comment. We’ve never been there and I’m so excited for an end-of-the-summer adventure =)
Speaking of cocktails… I l-o-v-e Moscow Mules, but with the 21 Day Fix program I’m on right now (3lbs down, holla atcha girl) I can’t have too many calories. Thankfully the program allows wine and alcohol, in extreme moderation but nonetheless. However, even when I indulge I don’t want to overindulge and ruin all my hard work.
I was trying Kombucha the other day and I noticed they had a Ginger-ade flavor, I thought, “why not?” So I switched the calorie laden ginger beer with the Ginger-ade Kombucha and…. successful swap! The Kombucha is only 30 calories per serving, so compared to a whopping 190 per serving for ginger beer it’s basically nothing! It’s also beyond easy and fast.
Okayyy, here is my secret! Instead of just adding fresh squeezed lime juice, I also add lime juice from these cute little lime shaped bottles. Kombucha is pretty bitter so I just add away until the bitterness is cut enough for my palate.
This is a perfect homemade cocktail and I’m excited to curl up with Nate, copper mug in hand, and lay down some plans for Denver!
