I have this pet peeve that I am incredibly ashamed of… I cannot stand when people say, “It’s fall!” or “It’s spring!” when the actual season change is a month away. You know, like on September 2nd, when you see the post that says, “I can’t believe summer is over!” No. Summer is over on September 23rd. Do I sound annoying? I’m annoying myself, but I just can’t help it! I live in Indiana and fall just means winter is closer, therefore mounds of snow and below zero temps are in my near future; maybe that’s why I hate the premature declarations of the end of summer. Now, the actual season of Fall is not my pet peeve, just the distorting of an actual concrete fact. I know, I’m so weird. Forgive me.
One thing that is NOT my pet peeve is fall fashion. Heart eyes for dayssss for sweaters and boots. It is my favorite season to plan outfits for, mostly because I’m a sucker for layers (give me all the cardigans and jackets!). I thought I would put together a four week series to get prepped for fall with some fashion posts. Outfit numero uno is super cute and easy, perfect for any fall weekend!
When I saw the shirt-tied-around-the-waist trend was returning it took me right back to fifth grade recess when I would tie my sweatshirt around my waist when I got too hot from running around. Kid problems, am I right? Regardless of the flashback, I love this trend. I think it looks so cute and carefree, with the added benefit of keeping an extra layer in fashionable storage for those untimely low AC temps.
I’ve wanted a pair of brown mules since I first saw them being worn early spring and I snagged some on major sale through Nordstrom Rack about a month ago. I always wait for sales; anyone else never buy anything unless it’s marked down?? Patience is a virtue, haha!
This shirt. So soft. So versatile. So striped. I got it during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale but it’s under $30 regular price. The perfect staple and it comes in so many colors and patterns.
Stayed tuned for the rest of my Fall Fashion Fridays!
